We sat in the hospital, so quiet, as our grandfather lies there on the bed.
He glances at both of us, as our eyes burn as if on fire, while each tear drop falls.
We are confused; feel so lost, so far away, floating away in the sky, and trying to make sense of it all.
Our throats feel like the ocean filling up with water, splashing around as if waves were riding up and down, making it difficult to breath, making us choke up, unable to say words, but feels so empty inside, for our loved one must move on.
As our grandfather's spirit glides over us, there is a feeling of warmth and a brightness that leaves with him.
Thank you grandpa for always lifting our spirits, we appreciate you. Thank you grandpa for always loving us for who we are, we needed you. Thank you grandpa for making us the boys we are, we love you.

Uncle Phil you were such a caring, wonderful man,I did not visit you while you were in the VA Hospital, and I feel so bad about that. I am sure you have ran into Mom by now, and all the rest of you siblings. You must be surrounded by all of your loved ones. I can see your smile from here. I love you!

So saddened that you're not with us any more, Uncle Phil. Mom, Dad & I really enjoyed your visits with us when we lived in NYC & after we all moved out here to Minnesota as well. Wish we lived closer so we could have had more good times like that. You are a dear dear man & you will be missed.
