Bob and I crossed educational paths in the early 1980's when both of us were working at School #2. He had a classroom and I was a clinician on the Diagnostic Team.
We got to know each other via our mutual ideas to help the students at school #2.
Together we started a Toastmasters International Youth Leadership program for his classroom.
Bob continued the program on his own at the school and then in retirement in the Dansville area.
He wanted students to get help preparing for college by obtaining a American Legion Scholarship and more.

Bob protected and saved lives in his military service. He protected and saved other lives, too. Every year he encouraged his students to think about protecting vulnerable, helpless human life both before birth and toward the end of life when people perhaps cannot effectively advocate for themselves. He supported and helped the Rochester Area Right to Life’s yearly Oratorical Contest. He encouraged his students to think about just why they were pro-life and then put their own words to it.
Who knows how many lives Bob has saved as his students have gone on to make their own life decisions and help friends who find themselves with difficult decisions to make. I will be forever grateful to what he did, saving lives in such an unassuming way.
He leaves aching holes in many hearts. My condolences to his family.

Mr. Babcock was one of my favorite teachers. He made going to HSA something to look forward to. His laughter and love for the dollar store was contagious. I am so thankful for everything I got to learn from him. How to speak with confidence, to know what I believe in an why I believe it, and how to love my country well but to love God most. I’m so sad to hear that he’s gone but I’m glad that he’s with the Lord and I can’t wait to give him a strong handshake when I see him again one day. I am sorry for your loss ❤️

My thoughts go out to Bob's family and friends. I knew and met Bob only a couple times when he ordered printing from Hilltop Printshop, he was a great customer.

My condolences to Bob's family and loved ones. Bob was a dedicated teacher. He knew his students needed opportunities outside the classroom to observe how the education they receive at school is connected to success in the workplace, that their education could provide a future of stability and reward. Bob knew that exposure to careers outside of family or environmental circumstances was a driving force that could smooth their transition from school, to work, to lifelong learning. Bob was unwavering in this and many students and their families have benefited from Bob's vigilance. I did not know Bob was a decorated veteran until now and that knowledge just cements my belief that we have lost another great man!
Resctfully,
Rick Grizzanti

Cousin Bob will be remembered for his quick wit and sometimes, sharp tongue (in jest of course). I always liked the way he and brother Bruce went after sister Marilyn...
Bob came to visit me on R&R from Saigon while I was stationed in Bangkok -- we had a good time going to Wat Pho ("Reclining Buddha", Emerald Buddha) and the Floating Market; but most of all, talking about family over a couple of beers. Bob earned the Bronze Star for his service in Viet Nam. Dave Gates
