Obituary of Phyllis Ann Johnson

Dansville- Phyllis Ann Johnson age 87, went home to the lord early Sunday September 26, 2021, at home in Dansville surrounded by her family. She was born in Dansville, on May 20, 1934, a daughter of the late Walter Hilsdorf and Mabel Catherine (Kiefer) Jacobs. On December 22, 1951, she was married to Clair Johnson who predeceased her after 59 years of marriage in 2011. She was also predeceased by a son David Johnson. Phyllis’ greatest joy was her family; she raised her family while traveling the world with her husband who was in the Air Force. Phyllis was a Christian all her life, she served the lord in countless ways. Her home church the South Dansville United Methodist Church was very special to her. Phyllis was always involved in the churches she attended, and people could always count on her. Phyllis was the valedictorian of the class of 1951 of Dansville Central School; she went on to work as a subscription clerk at instructor publications here in Dansville Surviving Phyllis are her children, Diane Brown, Donna Johnson, Patricia Johnson, Duane (Linda) Johnson, Dean (Kathleen) Johnson, Denise Koch, Dawn (Matthew) Guerin, a sister, Ellen Jacobs, brothers, Stanley (Joan), and Dale and (Kim) Jacobs, 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews. Friends may call on Monday Oct.4th from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at the Dansville United Methodist Church 5 Chestnut St. Dansville, a memorial service to follow.
