Dansville-William “Billy” Allen Bennett, 64 passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2021, at his home in Dansville. He was born in Dansville on September 23, 1956, a son of the late James and Vivian (O’Connor) Bennett. He was also predeceased by his special friend Elizabeth “Betsy” Smith, Betsy’s son Charlie Smith, and Betsy’s granddaughter Leah Smith. Billy worked as an Electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local 86 chapter in Rochester. He was a social member of the Union Hose Club, Dansville men’s Golf League, a Catcher for the Big Dicks Baseball Club, and an avid Bills and Mets fan. He grew up with a love of playing watching and coaching sports, including baseball, football, basketball, and golf. Surviving Billy are his children, Jenelle (Jaime Driesbach) Bennett, Cory (Brittney) Bennett, Curtis Bennett, grandchildren, Trevor Driesbach-Bennett, Landen, Jude, and Vera Bennett, sisters, Laurie and Jamie Bennett, brother Jay (Lynsie) Bennett, Betsy’s children Kristi Longbine, Patrick (Amy) Mullen, and Maria Smith, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of life will be held on Sunday June 27th 2:00pm at the Dansville Union Hose 66 Elizabeth St. Dansville. Arrangements by the Hindle Funeral Home Inc. 271 Main St. Dansville.
