Dansville –Gerald Burt Hagle, age 68 passed away on May 5, 2021, after a short battle with lung cancer. He enjoyed fishing with his family on Sunday before a quick decline, passing peacefully at home. He is loved and will be remembered always. Gerry was born in Dansville, on January 29, 1953, a son of the late Burt and Alice (Kemp) Hagle, in addition to his parents Gerry is predeceased by his son-in-law, Dave Galanter. Gerry loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and walking in the woods. He was an outdoorsman who taught his children and grandchildren to love it too. Always there with an opinion and a hug, Gerry could be counted on when you needed him. Gerry was knowledgeable about guns, including their history, and appraised value, he could be counted on by his friends, he was also a member of the Springwater rod and gun club. Gerry is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 48 years, Loretta Hagle (Gross), children Simantha Galanter, Rob (Michele) Hagle, Erin (Jason) Martin, grandchildren, Tyler, Ethan, Ella, Jack, and Max. His loving in-laws Sue McFadden, Del (Maryann) Gross, dearest friends Bernie and Andrea Davis. The family would like to thank everyone who helped and supported Gerry over the last few months: the Noyes Memorial Hospital cancer center, ER and hospital staff, the Dansville ambulance crew, and Livingston County Hospice. A special thank you to our Sparta area Amish neighbors who offered kind conversations, delicious baked goods (that Gerry greatly enjoyed) and their gracious help when need. There will be no services, Arrangements are being made by the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville.
