Obituary of Fred J. Blakley

Dansville-Fred J. Blakley, “Junior” age 90 passed, away Monday morning February 22, 2021, while residing at Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Mt. Morris, NY. He was born in Swain, NY on July 12, 1930, son of the late Fred K., and Maude (Summers) Blakley. He was also predeceased by his sister, Wilma Abplanalp. After graduating high school in Canaseraga, NY, Fred entered the US Air Force, where he served for four years. Returning from service, he was employed at Foster Wheeler for a short period of time, and drove truck occasionally for Owens Bros Trucking. Fred performed numerous roles while working for Lucidol (Atochem) until retirement. Fred enjoyed many outdoor activities, including riding his motorcycle, fishing, hunting, archery, skeet, and trap. He was a lifetime member of Dansville Fish and Game Club, Canaseraga American Legion, and a member of the Loyal Order of Free Masons. Fred is survived by his two daughters Cheryl Green, Linda (Jim) Ruscitto, former wife Joyce Blakley, and later, his close companion Joyce Kilbury (and family: daughter Paula and grandchildren Cody, Tyler, Kristin, Shania), grandchildren Alexa (Jason) Greer, Amanda (Josh) Azzi, Adam Green, and great-grandchildren Vincent Greer, and Anthony Azzi.
