Obituary of Walter Arthur Mehlenbacher

Cohocton-Dansville- Walter A. Mehlenbacher 94, passed away peacefully at home late Wednesday evening January 6, 2021. He was born in Cohocton, NY on July 2, 1926, a son of the late Arthur and Mildred (Strobel) Mehlenbacher. He was also predeceased by his dear wife of 55 years Peggy (Veeder) Mehlenbacher and brothers, Donald, Richard, John, Harold, and Clair Mehlenbacher. Walt was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Cohocton and a member of the Avoca Lodge # 673 of the F&AM. He retired from Rochester Telephone as an Installer-Repairman after 32 years of service. He had also owned and operated with his canine companion Sid, Browns Cable TV Service in the Cohocton Atlanta area for many years. He is survived by three sons Gary (Kathy) Mehlenbacher, Brent (Sarah) Mehlenbacher and Scott (Amy) Mehlenbacher, grandchildren, Lori, Brian, Chad, Corey, Patric, Haley, Emily and Evan, great-grandchildren, Shelby, Jenna, Tyler, Jackson, Mercede, siblings, Dorothy Mehlenbacher, Mary (Rod) Lindsey, Joan (Joe) Schwartz, James and William Mehlenbacher, In-laws Betty Mehlenbacher, Velma Veeder and Dick (Marge) Veeder and many nieces and nephews A private service will be observed at the request of Walt. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St. Dansville. Interment will be next to Peggy in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Cohocton. Online memorials may be at HindleFuneralHome.com.
