Proceeded in death by her husband Edward Kluener, parents, Katherine and Glenn Weidman and three brothers, Grant, Howard and Russell Weidman, and son-in-law Javier Lopez. Elva was born in Sparta, New York on June 6, 1918. She graduated from Dansville High School in June of 1937 as Salutatorian of her class. She graduated from Rochester Business Institute and held several different secretarial positions in Rochester before leaving the area to serve in the American Red Cross in Anchorage Alaska in 1944. She married Edward J. Kluener on June 29, 1946. She lived with her husband and children in Cincinnati, Ohio for 43 years and moved to Orland Park, Illinois for the last ten years of her life. She worked for 21 years in various secretarial and administrative positions at the University of Cincinnati. Elva loved looking for and learning about antiques. She was a hiking enthusiast in her youth and was a member of the Rochester Hiking club for many years, enjoying trips to Europe in her seventies with that club. Elva loved the Fingerlakes area and visited for several weeks every year after her retirement. She also spent much effort to learn about genealogy. She spent many summers visiting cemeteries, court houses, and libraries in New York and Pennsylvania. Funeral services will be held at Hindle Funeral Home on Friday, April 4th . Visitation from 10:00AM to 11:00 Am with services starting at 11:00. Elva will be buried in Greenmount Cemetery.
