Obituary of Jane Wise

Please share a memory of Jane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sparta/Dansville Jane Wise, age 96 passed away early Saturday morning September 19, 2020, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. Jane, born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, was preceded in death by her husband Donald W. Wise. She is survived by her children, Donna Wise of Nunda, Patricia (Wise) Fulkerson of Sparta, David Wise of Dansville, and Jeanne (Wise) Smith of Sparta. Her grandchildren include Crystal Niedzwiadek, Michelle Hammer, Pamela Niedzwiadek and Erica Wise. She had one great grandchild, Thora Hammer, along with many nieces and nephews. Jane loved to travel during her wonderful years spent with her husband. A favorite adventure was trips in their airplane. Jane also was a sports fan, with Larry Bird top on her list as well as Jeff Gordon. She was an assistant supervisor at King's Daughters Home for a few years and loved her work there. Her preferred outing was to visit the casinos, where she had the most fun in her later years. One of her almost best kept secrets was her first name. She didn't care for "Melva" and if her children mentioned it, she would let you know about it! Your thoughts and prayers have been greatly appreciated. There will be a private service for the family following the burial. The family requests any donations be made to Vincent House, Wayland or Theresa House, Geneseo. Ref. Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St. Dansville. Online memorials may be shared at HindleFuneralHome.com. Jane carried this poem in her wallet: God looked around His Garden and he found an empty place. He then looked down upon the Earth and saw your tired face. He puts his arms around you, and lifted you to rest. Gods Garden must be beautiful; he always takes his best. He knew that you were suffering; he knew you were in pain. He also knew in Heaven you would never hurt again. He saw the road getting rough and the hills harder to climb. So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered "Peace be Thine". It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home. If tears could build a staircase and memories a lane, We'd walk all the way to Heaven and bring you home again.
