To the entire Black Family,
Your mother was a beautiful person. In my early years, she was my 4H leader and taught me how to cook and sew. As a teenager and young adult, she was my boss at the hospital when I worked as a switchboard operator on weekends, holidays/vacations. She was so much fun to be around. She had a great sense of humor. I feel the pain of your loss and am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely, Judy Roberts Eaton

To Anne's family, our sympathies are sent to each of you along with fond memories of Anne's (and Paul's) time spent with us at the Dansville Area Historical Society. Stories were told at our board meeting last night of the many projects where Anne cheerfully pitched in to make the job easier and certainly more fun. Her generosity and Life Membership in our group will always be remembered.

I'm so sad to hear of Aunt Ann's passing. She was such a special lady and I admired her so. She had such an upbeat attitude as was way ahead of her time. Her love for the theater bonded us as well as her love for my mom, Norma Morrison Leathers. The fact that my mom always thought of her as a sister made her special to me as well. She showed such interest in my kids even though they were only her cousin's grandchildren. Earth just lost a pretty amazing lady but heaven is rejoicing to have her.

My Dear Amanda and Anne's Children,
I have known your mom and dad for over 60 years. The Vanderwerkens were our neighbors on Bank Street. Paul was my brother's great friend in high school, in the navy and at Smith's Market and village govt.
Your grandmother's and my mother were Navy Mothers together. Dansville people were and are GOOD PEOPLE. The Smith's and the Black's are together at Green Mount too. Our graves are right behind your parents. Last time I was in Dansville I put upright the flag on your dad's grave as it lay on the ground. I also sat upright the flowers as wind had blown them over too. I love the way you respect your parents gravesites. Last time I talked at length with Anne it was at the cemetery with 3 of you children. Her cancer had once again returned. I do hope she got to seen the "Betterfly" sculpture at Myer's Cancer Center at Noyes... Hope, Love, Peace resting Bench too. I donated them hoping that they might bring some joy to those seeking out better health and wellness during treatment. Knowing that your parents were great examples of love and kindness shines through each of you is wonderful! Keep up the good work!
Ephesians 2: 1-13 Grace of God and Romans 10: 9-10 Faith in the Resurrection
Keep smiling...I am sure there are many errors as I have been up most of the night as I am less than feeling well myself. :-) When next in Dansville I will stand between the Black and Smith grave sites with outstretched arms and pray to the Almighty thanking Him for such wonderful parents all of us had in Paul, Anne, Ruth and Leonard.
Luv and Hugs to all!!!
