Obituary of Mary Alice Packard

Mary Alice Packard age 93, passed away Monday afternoon February 17, 2020, at Highland Hospital in Rochester. She was born in LeRoy, PA on January 30, 1927, a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Kohler) Mott. On April 1, 1944, she was married to William C. “Bill” Packard, who predeceased her on January 9, 1997. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Margaret Loomis, Madelyn Tillson, Harry Mott, Doris Hurley and Stephen Mott, a son in-law Graham Frazer and a granddaughter Heather Boyum. After World War II Bill and Alice made Dansville their home. While Bill worked the family business, Dansville Chrysler Dodge Jeep, Alice ran the house. She was the true definition of a homemaker. She loved to share in the life of their two children and maintain all aspects of their home. While her children were young Alice found time to volunteer at the Dansville Public Library and later showcased her love of flowers while volunteering at Pappas Flowers. She also created many floral arrangements and door wreathes for the Presbyterian Church. Later in life she took her love of flowers outside to yard work and gardening. There were many weeks Alice was seen mowing the lawn every other day. In addition to her at home duties Alice was a member of the Dansville Presbyterian Church, Noyes Hospital Auxiliary and the Women’s Civic Club. She is survived by her daughter Candace “Candy” Frazer, a son, Dr. William (Shari) Packard, grandchildren , Graham (Barb) Frazer, Bill (Mel) Frazer, Morgan (Greg) Mouchka, William Packard; two step-grandsons Jeremy (Alexa) Martindale, Jeffery (Amy) Martindale, great-grandchildren, Graham, Ryan and Ella Frazer and Maddie Frazer, and Frazer and Paige Boyum, and Elena and Sonia Mouchka and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 6 pm at Hindle Funeral Home Inc. 271 Main St. Dansville. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 am at the Dansville Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville.
