Obituary of Daniel Connor Vogt

Daniel Connor Vogt, age 46 of Aurora, CO passed peacefully January 26th, 2020 at The Denver Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. Daniel was predeceased by his father James R. Vogt (2019), his mother Patricia Connor Vogt (1986) and brothers James and Robert. Daniel is survived by his brother Gregory, sister-in-law Stephanie, niece Anna, nephews Benjamin and Maxwell all of Houston, TX and stepmom Teresa Russell of Dansville, NY. Daniel graduated from Dansville Central School, earned his Accounting Degree at University of Niagara and his MBA at University of Denver, Daniels School of Business. He was a Senior Finance Consultant at Kaiser Permanente in Denver where he worked for almost 15 years. He was an excellent cook and often prepared the Thanksgiving dinner for his friends in Colorado. His passion was BBQ. He was a certified KCBS Contest Official, KCBS Master Judge, KCBS Competition Cook, 2017 Rocky Mountain BBQ Association Rookie of the Year and the 2019 Rocky Mountain BBQ Association Big Mike Sportsmanship award winner. Also, in his inaugural cook at the 2017 Buskers, Brews & BBQ Competition he took 1st place in Brisket and was awarded Colorado State Champ in that category. Daniel was also an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish. He has several trophy mounts of elk, deer and turkey that cover the walls in his home, but his favorite pastime was goose hunting with his buddy JR. Friends may call Saturday April 11 from 10:00 am to 1:00pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St.Dansville, where a memorial service will be held at the completion of calling hours. Daniel will be buried with his family at Holy Cross Cemetery. At Daniel's request, there will also be a BBQ / Memorial in Colorado.
