Obituary of Caroline L. Kennedy

Dansville- Caroline L. Kennedy age 100, passed away late Tuesday evening December 31, 2019, at the Livingston County CNR in Mt. Morris where she had been a resident since May of 2012. Caroline was born in Oakland, Pa on September 20, 1919, a daughter of the late Mary Pettis Bennett and Frank Ellsworth Bennett. She was predeceased by her husband John in 2009, her daughter Deanne Babcock in 2005, and her eleven siblings. Caroline was the 9th of 12 children. The family moved to Hornell, N.Y. in the early 30's. Caroline was an excellent dancer and met her future husband John Kennedy at the dance hall on Loon Lake. They celebrated 70 years of marriage before he passed away. Caroline worked at Sonyea for 23 years taking care of people with disabilities. Along with taking care of people, she loved ALL kinds of "critters". She almost always had pet birds and loved them dearly. As a resident in Florida she fed the local alligator, "Alice" for years. She loved cats and is remembered for feeding the raccoons that would come around. She had a sweet little voice that she would use to "talk to the animals"... Caroline was in a local bowling league in Dansville for many years. She was an excellent swimmer and has won awards in the past for her swimming abilities. She was an excellent card player and loved going to casinos. She is survived by her two daughter's Sharon (Thomas) Burr of Dansville, and Deborah (John) Stoner of Ormond Beach, Florida. Eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
