Obituary of Julie Lynn Pitcher

Dansville/Avon- Julie Lynn Pitcher age 48, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday afternoon November 12, 2019.

She was born in Dansville on November 8, 1971, a daughter of John and Pauline “Peg” (Gemmel) Pitcher.

Julie was a graduate of Dansville Central School Class of 1990; she went on to graduate from Genesee Community College and earned her degree in Human Services. Julie started her career working with children at the former Dansville Day Care Center. Julie continued her career in the infant/toddler Program at Margaret’s House Day Care Center on the RIT campus and was with the Davis Infant & Toddler Program since its inception in 1996.    Nurturing infants brought Julie such joy. She loved being part of their lives and families. She was proud of her work and of her “second family” at Margaret’s House.

Julie loved traveling to the Adirondacks and to Myrtle Beach with her family. While there, her favorite activities were camping and beach walking.  One of Julie’s hobbies was taking beautiful pictures of loons, flowers, and nature. There is not a loon on Limekiln Lake that has not been photographed by Julie.  Julie was very talented at cross stitching. Consider yourself blessed if you have one of her pieces of work.  Julie impacted the lives of many.  Her cheerful smile and fun-loving personality will be missed.

She is survived by her parents John and Peg Pitcher; a sister Beth (Mark) Mineo; nieces Charlotte and Molly Mineo; special aunts Carol (Larry) Utter and Gail (Joe) Page, Nancy Smallwood, many other aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors, classmates and friends.

Friends may call Sunday November 17, from 2-4pm at the Dansville United Methodist Church, 5 Chestnut Ave., A funeral service will be held Monday at 2:00 pm at the church. Private interment will take place at Greenmount Cemetery Dansville. Arrangements are entrusted to Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville.
