I’m without words,
My heart goes out to his family at this very difficult time. Ben was always a good dude even when we were kids. He was my favorite person to be around. We’ve all known that person that every time they’re around you just want them around you. When I look back at my child hood he’s the only thing I see. I miss what we once had he was my best friend. He protected me he always made every bad thing ok. We were separated at a young age and I took it really hard. When I found this out that anxiety of being separated came back but much more milder this time. I can’t imagine what all of his family is going through right now. Im sorry for this great loss. Trust in God he will strengthen all of our hearts.
Love always,
Your little bro....
“Jelly Roll, Smoking Section” song dedication love you bro!

Ben had a very rough start in my womb, being diabetic and out of control most of the pregnancy. Testing showed he was in constant distress and he and I spent weeks off and on in Noyes Memorial Hospital. My last month of pregnancy, trying to rescue my pet rabbit from being eaten by a dog...I fell down the back door stairs of Fred's parents home causing the umbilical cord to release connection between us. Ben was no longer receiving nourishment forcing an emergency c-section to save his precious life and rushed to Rochester to live in an incubator till his lungs matured. He was a beautiful baby but to me he looked like my Grandfather! Ben thrived despite his obsticals and not from eating fruits and vegatables either...He hated fruit and vegetables and refused to swallow them especially applesauce. Ben never sat up on his own till he was 6 months old we thought is he ever going to. But once he did he was crawling before the week was out, walked at 9 months and potty trained at a year old. Once he got going there was no stopping him. He was determined to get living. He loved being outdoors. He loved his wheeled rocking horse, anything with wheels, anything you can do outdoors, he loved. Ben was a sweet, Kind, generous, giving, helpful child...a very sincere and sensitive Soul, a harsh word brought him tears. He held his emotions in too much but he was a happy child. He loved his cartoons and Scooby Doo was a daily must watch. Ben always took his toys apart piece by piece never putting them back together. Knowing he'd be in trouble for destroying them hid them at the bottom of the toy box. He always asked for construction equipment toys and informed me at 7 years old he'd be a construction equipment man when he grew up...but in his heart he already was. When Ben was 14 years old he wanted to ride our (Randy, Ben's Step Father) Tennesee Walker "Gabriel" who was very spirited with a reputation around the stable to put him on the horse walker 2 hours before you ride him!!!! Ben insisted he was skilled enough to ride him. Randy And I had him ride a quarter Horse to reassure us that he could ride. Ben did all the right things at all the right times. Randy told Ben "if Gabriel gets away from you jump off...It will be better to risk a broken leg, arm or shoulder than be killed by him...horses are dangerous" We put the pinching bridle on him to give Ben even more control of him...so after we thought Gabriel was wore out from the walker he'd been on and more mellow, Benjamin anxiously mounted and started riding him. The first two rounds around this mile wide pasture came and went smoothly with no problems...on the east turn and third time around, Gabriel, a free spirit anyway, decided restraint or no restraint I'm running...enough of this pretty horse walking and a full bucking, jumping, and running commenced. Ben didn't seem alarmed he pulled back on the reigns and held it fast. Ben had the horses chin back as far as he could, his chin was touching his own neck but didn't deter Gabriel. Still running and jumping around and around the pasture at a full out run like a run away train. We watched in despair, surely that horse would tire and Ben could reign him in to the barn...Nope... Gab determined to run and Ben just as determined to reign him in and get control...It wasn't funny then but if you could of seen it you'd think you were watching a Hollywood stunt man...13 rounds later...I counted while Randy saddled up Chance the Guarter horse to go stop that hurricane of a horse. Randy tried chasing him to catch up to him but Gabriel was too fast for Chance and so Randy turn and head for Ben head on...This worked and Gabriel gave up his freedom...back in submissive mode. Ben brought him to the barn. Randy asked Ben," Why didn't you jump?" Ben said laughing, "They only taught me how to stay on a horse and never how to jump off one." With relief and much well deserved praise for his bravery, we all laughed and went for ice cream.
Ben's life was cruelly cut short. When something as sad as this happens, there are no answers. But there are countless reasons why we will remember this life that was taken away. Thank You Benjamin Martin Weiler for enriching our lives. My first born child, My first born Son, I'll see you in Heaven someday soon!!!
