Obituary of Lois V. Thompson

Dansville- Lois V. Thompson age 94, passed away early Wednesday morning November 28, 2018, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris, she had resided at Morgan Estates in Geneseo for eight years.

 

She was born in Buffalo, NY on February 10, 1924, the daughter of the late Harry and Magdalena (Lang) Moratti.  On February 15, 1942, she was married to Howard Thompson, who died November 22, 1996.  She was also predeceased by a daughter Gloria Berg, son-in-law Ross Gridley.

 

Lois was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Dansville where she served as treasurer for many years and was a member of the Altar Guild and the Loyal Club.  She was a former member of the Kate J. Jackson Court of Amaranth.  Lois was a longtime switchboard operator at the former Dansville Hospital and Noyes Memorial Hospital. She had also worked for the F.A. Owen Publishing.

 

She is survived by three daughters Donna Gridley, Susan (Dean) Fassett and Bonnie (James) Wolfer, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Margery Edbauer, Lois Storey, and Mary Thompson, brothers-in-law Charles (Shirley) and Merlin (Kaye) Thompson

   

A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Saturday December 29, 2018 11:00am. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St. Dansville. Online condolences may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com
