Obituary of Lucille Passmore

Dansville- Lucille M. Passmore age 90, passed away early Monday evening September 30, 2013, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris where she had been a resident for the past year. She was born in Warren MA, on March 7, 1923, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Houghton) Leno. She was raised by her late grandparents Luther and Agnes Houghton, do to her mother's untimely death. On May 6, 1949, she was married to Hillyer Passmore, whom she met while she was working as a Nurse's Aide at the Tupper Lake VA Hospital. She was also predeceased by a granddaughter Elizabeth Van Hyning, and a sister Leah Leno. Lucille was a graduate of the Catherine Mc Auley School of Nursing in Batavia and went on to be a private duty nurse for many years. During WWII she was a crane operator at the Warenstein Pump Company in MA. She was a former member of the Eastern Star of Long Lake NY and the AARP. She and Hillyer enjoyed the Adirondack Mountain Region and spent a lot of time traveling through them. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Ed) Van Hyning of Dansville, two sons, Leon Passmore of Albion, David Pratt of Dansville, and a grandson Christopher Van Hyning of Dansville. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Greenmount Cemetery in Dansville. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville.
