Obituary of Gladys J. Wright

Dansville- Gladys Wright age 83, passed away Sunday afternoon March 4, 2018, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris where she had been a resident for the past few years.

She was born in Dansville, on September 22, 1934, a daughter of the late Glen and Ella Mae (Rowe) Perrine. On October 25, 1954, she was married to William J. "Bill" Wright, who predeceased her on September 13, 2008. She was also predeceased by a sister Jeanette Glover.

Gladys was a longtime member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Dansville and the Golden Cross Circle at the King's Daughters and Sons Home in Dansville. Gladys was a committee member at BOCES in Mt. Morris where she was instrumental in the development of the cosmetology program. She also served on the Livingston County Beauticians Association. She was a dietician at the former Kings Daughters and a member of the former Hornell Eagles Club. She was beautician for many years at her shop Wright's Beauty Shop on the corner of Adams and Main St. in Dansville. In her free time she enjoyed camping, jigsaw puzzles, traveling and reading.

She is survived by a daughter, Dianne (Keith) Moose, a son David (Susan Grant) Wright, four grandchildren, Kiera Wright, Chris (Stacy) Moose, Daniel Moose and Keith (Jamie) Moose, five great grandchildren, two sisters, Edna (Kenneth) Hutchinson, and Marion Leven, four brothers, Harold (Betty) Perrine, Howard (Nancy) Perrine, Leon (Bertha) Perrine and Garfield (Becky) Perrine, a brother in-law Carl Glover and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday March 16, from 4 to 7 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St. Dansville. A memorial service will be held Saturday March 17 at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Dansville. Interment will be in Ossian Center Cemetery.
