Obituary of Betty A. Vogel

Dansville- Betty A. Vogel age 92, passed away Monday morning July 31, 2017, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.

She was born in Rochester, NY, on May 3, 1925, a daughter of the late William and Edith Josephine (Barrett) Elston. On August 31, 1946, she was married to Walter E. Vogel, who predeceased her on March 30, 2017. She was also predeceased by a brother, William Elston Jr. a sister Margery Dubbs, and a grandson Brett Jackman.

She was a graduate of Irondequoit High School Class of 1943. She attended and graduated from the Eastman Dental Dispensary and later MCC. She was a Dental Hygienist for Dr. Charles Calder for over forty-two years.

Betty was a longtime faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Dansville. While a member at St. Paul's she sang in the choir, served on the church council, was chairman of the Christian education committee, banner society, knitted and crocheted prayer blankets. In her faith she and Walt were active volunteers in New Life Prison Ministries. She was also a member of the former Golden Cross Circle at the Kings Daughters and Sons Home.

She is survived by her children, John (Jo Ann) Vogel, Theodore (Colleen) Vogel, Susan (Richard) Jackman, a brother in law, Charles (Shirley) Vogel, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home Inc. 271 Main St. Dansville, NY. A funeral service will be held at 9:00 am Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Dansville.
