Obituary of Diane M. Burritt

Arkport- Diane M. Burritt age 74, passed away peacefully Friday morning March 17, 2017, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. She was born in Dansville, on December 11, 1942, a daughter of the late Dwight and Dorothy (Bonner) Rawlings. She was also predeceased by her brother, Dennis Rawlings. She was a graduate of Dansville School, and went on to become a Town and Village Assessor. She married Charlie Burritt on August 15, 2009 who survives. Diane was part of the Ladybugs of Steuben County, a local prayer group, the IAL Assessors Association. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, baking, traveling, reading, seeing musicals and the theater. She loved spending time with her family during holidays especially Thanksgiving. She loved her husband Charlie dearly, and enjoyed the time they spent together. She is survived by her husband, Charlie Burritt, her children, Christopher (Kimberly) Smalt, Michelle (Regi Hendrix) Smalt, Lynden (Holley) Smalt, Laura Smalt, Todd (Cherie) Burritt, Andrea (Shane) Gillispie, a brother Daniel (Roseann) Rawlings, Grandchildren Kenneth, Kyle, Jernee, Courtney, Nicholas, and Nathen Smalt, Justin Horton, Brandon, Kaleigh, Hayden, Emilie Burritt, Drew and Travis Gillispie. Friends may call Sunday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday 11:00am St. Mary’s Catholic Church 40 Elizabeth St. Dansville. Burial will be held in Rodgersville Forest Lawn Cemetery, South Dansville.
