Dansville- Marjorie Maracle, 96 of Meter Rd., in Dansville, passed away at home on Monday evening August 5, 2013, four days short of her 97th birthday with her family by her side. She was born in Dalton, NY, on August 9, 1916, a daughter of the late Henry and Eva (Seager) Buchinger. On October 11, 1940, in Dalton, NY, she was married to Leonard Maracle from the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory Ont. Canada, who predeceased her on November 20, 1996, after 56 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by a sister, Mabel Maracle and a brother Robert Buchinger. Marjorie attended Dalton Public School and the Elim Bible School in Hornell prior to her marriage. After marrying Leonard she kept busy raising seven children without and modern conveniences. In her spare time she enjoyed reading her bible and crocheting. Many in her neighborhood were very fond of her and affectionately referred to her "Aunt Margie" Marjorie's faith was an important part of her life. She was a longtime member of the Highway Tabernacle in Dansville, where she played the piano for 65 years. Marjorie is survived by four sons, William, James and Thomas of Dansville, Brandon of the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, Ont. Canada; three daughters, Jeanne (David) Miller of Rochester, Joanne (Robert) Young of Dansville, Shirley (Dennis) Leyden of Batavia, her very special caregiver of 7 years, Sally Ringelberg of Dansville, 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A funeral service will be held SATURDAY at 11:00 am at the Dansville Free Methodist Church. Interment Oak Lawn Cemetery, West Sparta.
