Obituary of Elizabeth Bennett

Dansville- Elizabeth “Liz” Bennett age 83, passed away late Thursday morning December 15, 2016, at the home of her daughter Deborah after an extended illness. She was born in Dansville on July 22, 1933, a daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth LaChuisa. She was also predeceased by her husband, John P. Bennett, a daughter, Mary Theresa Bennett, and a grandson Ryan John Perry. Liz was a communicant, Eucharistic Minister and sang in the choir at the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary’s Church in Dansville. She was active in her community serving in the Hospital and Home Bounders’ Ministry, a member of the Children of Mary, and Carmalite, Meals on Wheels. Liz was a member Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, a former den mother for Cub Scout Troup 38, a volunteer for Cinderella Softball and tiny tots bowling. She was a member of the Dansville Lioness Club and performed with the end women for the annual Lions Minstrel Show. In high school she was a drummer and cheerleader and enjoyed tap dancing. She was a member of the Brae Burn Women’s Golf Association and enjoyed living in Florida for many winters She is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Anthony) Reyes, Lisa (Ron) Perry, two sons, Michael Bennett and John (Julie Saxton Martin) Bennett, sisters, Phyliss (Leonard) Didas, Vee (Bob) Lauffer, eleven grandchildren, a great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday from 1:00-4:00pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., in Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 am in St. Mary’s Church in Dansville. Interment will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Dansville.
