Obituary of Joseph B. Price Jr.

Dansville- Joseph B. Price Jr., age 83, passed away Wednesday afternoon November 30, 2016, at his home in Fuquay-Varina, NC. He was born in Dansville, on August 6, 1933, a son of the late Joseph and Alta (Eveland) Price Sr. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Neil Price, Alice Knudson and a son in-law Terry McIntyre. On September 6, 1951, he was married to Neva Harter Price, who survives. Joe was a machinist at the former Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. in Dansville. He was a Past Chief of the Dansville Volunteer Fire Department as a member of the Hook and Ladder Company and the past Chief's Association. In his free time he was active in the Bowling Leagues at the former Brae Burn Recreation in Dansville and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Joe was also active in continuing his education even after he retired. He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Neva Price, a daughter, Julie McIntyre, three sons, Joseph (Deborah) Price, James (Tracy) Price and Matthew (Carole) Price; a sister, Neva Gardner, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville, where services will be held Thursday at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
