Dansville- James W. Vosteen age 89, passed away early Wednesday morning June 8, 2016, at his own home in Dansville. He was born in Lyons, NY on March 5, 1927, a son of the late Wallace S. and Mary A. (DeGolver) Vosteen. He also was predeceased by his wife Margaret Vosteen, and a sister Kathryn Vosteen. Jim was a house appraiser for the former Community Saving’s Bank in Rochester until he retired. On Saturday October 6th 1956 at 2:00pm he married Margaret “Peg” (Knapp) Vosteen. Jim spent a lot of time at Sodus Point fishing and spending time at his family's cottage. He enjoyed going out to eat with his caregivers or just going for a ride. One of his favorite things to do was going out for chocolate ice cream. He loved going to see the dogs and cats at Lollipop Farm. He was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church of Rochester. He is survived by his cat, Lily (the Princess), a nephew, Doug (Dawn) Sterner, a niece, Beverly (Bob) Garritano, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and loving friends. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 am to 11:00am at the Hindle Funeral Home Inc. in Dansville, where services will be held at the completion of calling hours. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville.
