Conesus- Roger D. Jacobs age 77, passed away early Thursday morning February 18, 2016, at his home in Conesus following a short illness. He was born in Dansville on July 29, 1938, a son of the late Arthur and Ruth Mattle Jacobs. He was also predeceased by two granddaughters, Cheyenne Jacobs and Abbey Logsdon, and a brother Thomas Jacobs. On July 29, 1961, he was married to Elaine Orr Jacobs, who survives. Roger was a Supervisor for The Pike Company of Rochester for many years. He was a true outdoorsman, hunting on the family farm or in the Western United States, Africa, Alaska, and Canada, or sawing lumber at his saw mill and helping with projects around his children’s homes. He was a devoted member of the Sparta Center United Methodist Church which he affectionately called his church home for over 40 years. Surviving in addition to his dear wife Elaine, are his five children, Brian (Christine) Jacobs, Colleen (Todd) Green, Bonnie (Mark) Logsdon, Loren (Mary) Jacobs and Roger Scott (Amy) Jacobs, siblings, Raynard (Tina) Jacobs, Michael Jacobs, Geraldine King, Loraine Conrad and Sharon (Jerry) Bricks, twenty grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the Sparta Center United Methodist Church on Friday March 4, 2016 at 10:00am. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
