Obituary of Helen Grace Lawrence

She was born in Wellsville on October 31, 1933, a daughter of the late Raymond Edward and Alice Marie (Lardner) Neis. She was also predeceased by a daughter Beth Popple and a sister Mary Haley. On July 3, 1954, she was married to Carl Lawrence, who survives. Helen worked in the office at the Dansville Central School. Helen was also employed as a medical biller and secretary for Dr. Coyle and Dr. Cho. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Helen and Carl were active members of the Batavia Region Car Club, the Hornell Area Car Club and the Southern tier Car Club. In her free time she enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and watching the birds at her feeders outside her home. Surviving in addition to her husband Carl, are a daughter, Linda (James) McLaughlin of Dansville, grandchildren, Jimmy and Allie McLaughlin, Ryan (Katy Osmelowski) Popple of PA, Bradley Popple of NC, and Amanda (Gerritt) Howard also NC a great-grandson Beckett McCoy Howard, a brother David (Jane) Neis of Newark, a sister Marilyn Cothran of CA and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Interment will be in Ossian Center Cemetery.
