Sparta- Roger Carney age 75, passed away early Sunday morning January 19, 2014 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris following a long illness. He was born in Dansville, a son of the late Edwin and Dorothy (Carney) Wampole. On April 6, 1958, he was married to Rosalyn “Rosie” Crane who predeceased him on May 30, 2011 and son Darwin Carney. Roger was a machinist at Gleason Works in Rochester and Foster Wheeler in Dansville, a groundskeeper at the Conesus Country Club, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Mike) Malone of Dansville, Darlene (Randy) Braun of Fowlerville, two sons; Gordon Carney of Sparta and Rodney “Deke” (Kendra) Carney of Ossian; three sisters, Lois Harrington of Nunda, Shirley (Larry) Murphy of Wayland and Kathy Harvey of Rome 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren Friends may call Wednesday from 1:00 to 3:00 at the Scottsburg United Methodists Church where services will be held at the completion of calling hours with the Rev. David Hotchkiss officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery Scottsburg. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville.
