Obituary of Frances L. Hynes

Sparta- Frances L. Hynes age 83, passed away peacefully early Sunday evening December 22, 2013, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris following a long illness. She was born in the Town of Sparta on May 14, 1930, a daughter of the late Lester and Luella (Smith) Merriman. On April 2, 1948, she was married to Paul R. Hynes, who survives. Frances had worked for the former Physical Culture Hotel and the Outdoor Store. She was a member of the Empire State Oliver Tractor Club with her husband Paul. Frances in her free time enjoyed gardening. She was a good wife, mother and grandmother, sister and dear friend to many. She founded the sparta center ladies auxiliary for the sparta fire department. Surviving in addition to her devoted husband Paul, is a daughter, Donna (Mike Nagle) Smyder of Dansville; two sons, John (Gail) Hynes of Sparta and David (Donna) Hynes of Wayland; seven grandchildren, Stacey (Pat) Moretti, Jenifer Smyder, Ryan (Brenna) and Nathan Hynes, Tanya Young, Michelle (Brian) Young, Melissa (Bob) Cody; a sister Doris (Marion) Girard-Gilbert, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St. in Dansville, where a memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am with the Rev. James Stevens officiating. Interment will be in Kiehle Cemetery in Sparta. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
