Obituary of Goldia Rossella LeBar

Goldia R. LeBar age 82, passed away peacefully at home early Tuesday morning July 24, 2012. She was born in Webster Crossing on June 21, 1930, the daughter of the late Ray and Minerva (Nolan) Bortle. She was predeceased by her six siblings: Francis (Punch), William (Shorty), Roy, Regina Lawrence, Marian Wood, and Esther Howard. She grew up in Webster Crossing and attended a one room school house before attending Wayland Central School. On August 22, 1948, she was married to Robert (Bob) LeBar. Together at 108 Ossian St., Dansville, they raised four sons: Richard (Lorraine), Robert (Donna), Gary and Ed. Goldia was a wife, mother, and homemaker. She enjoyed canning, cooking, and baking; especially recipes handed down from her mother and mother-in-law Helen. She crocheted beautiful doilies and Afghans for her family. She liked reading, watching TV, growing flowers, doing puzzles, and going to yard sales with her sister-in-law Flora. For over 40 years she and Bob sold tomatoes and vegetables from their home garden. She enjoyed the simple things in life. Family and friends were always welcome. Goldia was a member of the Dansville Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Dansville Moose Lodge 1130. She worked as an election inspector for over 20 years. Goldia is survived by her husband Bob and 4 sons of Dansville, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., in Dansville, where services will be held Friday at 11:00am. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Livingston County Hospice, Clara Barton Chapter # 1 of the American Red Cross or the Dansville Ambulance Fund.
