Obituary of Margery Swarts

Margery Swarts (ne Roffe) lost her long courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer on May 16, 2012. She was born in York, New York on April 6, 1946. She was predeceased by her parents John Roffe and Mary Wilcox Roffe and her brother John David Roffe. Margery married Peter Christian Swarts on May 8, 1965. They lived in Sparta, New York where they raised their 7 children together. Marge worked at the Dansville Central School as a teacher's aid before retiring in December 2011. Margery loved and cared for many animals. She also enjoyed tending to her flower garden and spending time with her 12 grandchildren. She is survived by her Husband of 47 years, Peter Christian Swarts and her siblings Philip (Judia) Roffe, Sydney Roffe, and Melinda Paladino (ne Roffe), and her children Pamela Swarts of Buffalo, NY, Tracey (Daniel) Vannatta of Baldwinsville NY, Eric (Audrey) Swarts of Willow Springs NC, Joel (Amy) Goodwin of Springwater NY, Samantha (Jason) Letendre of Raleigh NC, Heather (Charles) Webster of Honeoye Falls NY, and Heidi Swarts (Matt Appleby) of Belcamp MD. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 PM at the Sparta Center United Methodist Church, where services will be held on Saturday at 10:00am with a reception to follow.
