She was born in Dansville, on August 27, 1930, the daughter of the late Wallace and Marion (Reynolds) Balding. On December 2, 1950, she was married to William E. Cole Jr., who predeceased her on May 16, 2004. She was also predeceased by her sons John E. and Steven M. Cole. Betty was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Dansville, where she was the organist for many years. She was a member and past president of the Lutheran Church Woman's Group; she served on the music and worship committee, a member of the Mary Martha Circle and "FISH" (Friends in Service Here). She was a member of the Golden Cross Circle at the King's Daughter's Home, a longtime volunteer at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville and an organist of the Dansville United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of the "Class of 1950" from Dansville Central School. Betty is survived by a daughter, Anne (Eugene) Cavallo of Angel Fire, NM, a son David (Donna) Cole of Fairport, a brother, Vincent (Barbara) Balding of Livonia, six grandchildren, Andrea (Kyle) Jeffers, Amelia (Jon) Whitehead, Adam, Emily, Jacob, and Erika Cole and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00pm at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Dansville, where services will be held Monday at 9:30am with the Rev. Virginia Mazzarella officiating. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 21 Clara Barton St., Dansville, NY 14437.
