Obituary of Chester A. Logue

Dansville- Chester A. Logue age 100, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ late Monday evening December 24, 2012, at the Livingston County CFNR in Mt. Morris. He was born in Putnam County, West Virginia on March 25, 1912, a son of the late Andrew and Frances (Frisbie) Logue. He was also predeceased by his wife Althea (Maurer) Logue on January 11, 2009. Following high school, Chester graduated from Nyack Institute. He married Althea E. Maurer on Dec. 3, 1938. He served as a Christian and Missionary Alliance Pastor for 39 years in ten different churches, mostly in New York State. Before retiring in 1976 he served his last church in Hornell, NY. He enjoyed gardening and calling on people. It didn't matter whether folks belonged to his church or not, they would get a call from him. He quickly became aware of who was moving into and out of town. Even in retirement he remained passionate about serving the Lord and raising money for missions. He would often be seen walking around town. In his final days, with limited ability, he still was praying with people in need. He is survived by a daughter, Ellen (Roger) Elbel, who currently are International Workers in Israel, two sons, Niles (Kathi) Logue of PA, and Loren (Peggy) Logue of Dansville, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Friends may call Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Dansville Free Methodist Church Methodist Church where services will be held at 11:00am. Interment will be in Philipsburg Cemetery, Philipsburg, PA. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St. Dansville.
