Obituary of Helen M. New

Dansville- Helen M. New age 90, passed away early Tuesday morning February 14, 2012, at the Werth Adult Home in West Sparta, where she had been a resident for the past two years. She was born in Dansville on July 21, 1921, the daughter of the late Peter and Eva (Johantgen) Kruchten. On October 5, 1940, she was married to Bonner "Pete" New, who predeceased her on September 1, 2004. She was also predeceased by her son, James Peter New and brothers, John and Richard Kruchten. Helen was a communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Helen and her husband Pete enjoyed riding there Harley Davidson Motorcycles and were charter members of the Conesus Lake Riders Club. Helen and Pete enjoyed many summers on Canandaigua Lake with their family. She enjoyed going to yard sales and rummage sales, watching soap operas, growing plants, solving puzzles, riding horses and hunting. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Bonner (Donna) New of Dansville and a daughter Judy (Jack Emerson) Jerome of Wayland; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am in St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Dansville.
