Obituary of Margaret Jones Biek

Dansville- Margaret J. Biek age 93, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday afternoon February 12, 2012, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville following a brief illness. She was born in the Town of Bath, NY on August 11, 1918, a daughter of the late Monroe and Mildred (Burnett) Jones. On June 9, 1942, she was married to Richard "Dick" Biek, who predeceased her on January 27, 2001. She was also predeceased by a brother Burnett Jones and a sister in-law Louise Jones. Margaret was a Communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Margaret and her late husband Dick were very active with the "Buds and Blossoms" square dance group for many years. She was a longtime volunteer at Noyes Memorial Hospital, she also volunteered at the Sr. Nutrition Center, Meals on Wheels, Red Cross blood drives, the Dansville Community Food Pantry, Dansville Public Library and transported patents for dialysis treatments. She was the last of the old neighbors on Hessler Court. She is survived by her children, Doug (Ann) Biek of FL, Tom (Jeanie) Biek of AZ, Bob (Diane) Biek of Pulaski, Martha (Paul) Robinson of Perkinsville, Jim (Joice) Biek of Conesus, and Barb (Howard) Brockway also of Perkinsville. A brother Richard "Dick" Jones of Dansville, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery Dansville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942, Dansville Ambulance Fund, 18 Ossian St., Dansville Public Library, 200 Main St., or Noyes Memorial Hospital, 111 Clara Barton St., all of Dansville, NY 14437.
