Dansville- Betty E. Howe age 84, passed away late Saturday morning January 21, 2012, at the Vincent House in Wayland where she had been a resident since December 26, 2011. She was born in Warsaw on November 16, 1927, a daughter of the late Arthur and Ruby (Everingham) Truax. She was also predeceased by her siblings Donald Truax, Maynard Truax, Hazel Rawlings, Edith Rawleigh, Dorothy Truax, Florence Burr, Viola Blowers, and Jessie Truax. On December 11, 1947 she was married to Richard Howe, who survives. Betty was formerly employed at the Blum Shoe Factory and Kelly Brothers Nursery both of Dansville. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, sewing and her dear pets. Surviving in addition to her husband Richard, are her siblings, William Truax and John Truax of Dalton, Violet Sleight of Swain, Evelyn Anderson of Renton, Washington, and Joyce Truax of Swain. Brother & sister in law John and Carol Carey of Dansville. Many nieces, nephews and dear friends and neighbors especially Kathy and Cory Creagan. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Vincent House PO Box 566, Wayland, NY 14572. .
