Dansville Edward A. Phillips age 69, passed away Sunday afternoon November 27, 2011, at the home of his daughter Kimberly Mayo in Acton, MA.
He was born in Hornell on November 25, 1942, a son of the late Herman and Orcelia (LaBarr) Phillips. He was also predeceased by a brother Charles Phillips.
Ed was a US Air Force veteran. He was a welder at the former Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation in Dansville for forty years retiring in 2003. He was a member of the IAM Local 6730 and the forty five year club at Foster Wheeler.
He is survived by his children, Chris (Tamara) Phillips of Avon, Kimberly (Andy) Mayo of Acton, MA and Terri Brown of Fairport; two sisters, Fran Gottschall of Arkport and Vaudine Lyon of Hawley, PA; two brothers, James (Sherry) Phillips of Dansville and Robert Goodwin of Hilton; four grandchildren, Madison and Noah Brown and Reagan and Braedon Mayo.
Friends may call Saturday from 10:00am to 12:00 noon at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday at 12:30 pm in St. Mary's Cemetery, Route 21 in the Town of Fremont. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Rd., South, Rochester, NY 14620.
