Dansville- Mary M. Flickner age 85 passed away early Saturday morning November 5, 2011, at the Hurlbut Nursing Home in Rochester. She was born in Dansville on May 4, 1926, a daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (McGriggin) Cox. She was the widow of Warren H. McCarty and Daniel Flickner. Mary was a cleaner at SUNY Geneseo for fifteen years and was also a senior companion at Dogwood Day Treatment in Dansville. She was a communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville, a former member of the Woman of the Moose and the Fawcett Post of The American Legion Auxiliary in Canaseraga. In her free time she enjoyed taking care of her friends and family. She is survived by her children, Gloria (Gary Latoy) Whitman of Spencerport, Sandra (Gary) Beardsley and James McCarty both of Dansville and Michael McCarty of FL. Grandchildren, Robert (Paula Cole) Browe, Tina (Steve) Clancy, Terry Kelley, Tammy (Don Amlott) Kelley, Mary Jo (Denni Mark) Whitman, Brian (Amy Nesbitt) McCarty, Morgan McCarty, Jamie McCarty, Dodie McCarty, Maria Beardsley, 13 great-grandchildren. Step-children, Ron (Carole) Flickner of Livonia, Daniel (Nancy) Flickner of Avon, Larry (Ann) Flickner of Dansville, Donna (Bob) Holbrook of Piffard, Diane (Charles) Hunt of Wayland, Dawn (Jerry Finn) Ames of Wayland and Ella Flickner. 25 step-grandchildren, 54 step-great-grandchildren 8 step great-great grandchildren, siblings, Phil Cox , Margaret Fannaro and Theresa Shull and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday from 11:00 to 1:00 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A graveside service will be held in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville following calling hours. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com. Contributions may be made to the Dansville Ambulance Fund, 18 Ossian St., Dansville, NY 14437.
