Obituary of Evelyn Acomb Roberts

She was born in Dansville on April 19, 1932, a daughter of the late Edward and Marie (Roche) Acomb. She was also predeceased by her siblings including her twin brother Edward Acomb, Richard (Bud) Acomb, Margaret (Peg) Mastin, Margery Acomb and a grandson, Nicholas Roberts. On September 29, 1956, she was married to Robert C. "Bob" Roberts who survives. Evelyn graduated from Dansville Central high School in 1950. She attended Keuka College for two years and graduated from nursing school at Sisters of Charity in Buffalo. Evelyn retired as a nurse in the operating room at Noyes Memorial Hospital in 1994 after forty years of service. She was a former trustee for the Village of Dansville and the Deputy Mayor for the Village of Dansville for over twenty-five years. She was a communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Surviving Evelyn is her husband of 55 years, Robert (Bob) Roberts, her children, Judy (Mike) Eaton, Jeffrey (Mary) Roberts, Stephen (Maria) Roberts, Kate (George) Papazoglou and Peggy Collins; her siblings, Jean (Dr. John) VanLandingham, James Acomb and Carolyn Sick; sisters in laws Alice Acomb and Dianne Acomb and Marie Roberts; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Interment will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Dansville.
