Obituary of Jacob Edward Morsch

He was born in Dansville on Jane 18, 1922, a son of the late Jacob and Minnie Sauerbier Morsch. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Edward Morsch, A. Renilda Snyder, Louise Malandra, Elizabeth Leone, and Virginia Kiesl. On May 24, 1947, he was married to the former Catherine VanDerwerken who survives. Jake was a communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. He was a WWII US Navy veteran and member of the Daniel Goho Post # 87 of the American Legion of Dansville. He was a welder at the former Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation in Dansville for forty three years retiring in 1987. He was also a member of the IAM # 1665 and the twenty five year club at Foster Wheeler. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking in his shop specializing in making cradles and chairs. He also enjoyed playing golf in Dansville or while wintering in Florida with his wife Katie. Surviving in addition to his dear wife of sixty three years, Katie, are a son, Jacob "Jay" Morsch Jr., of Caledonia, a daughter, Lynda Secor of Ohio.; a sister, Rita Myers of Clarence, five grandchildren four great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in-law and friends. Friends may call Thursday from at 4:00 to 7:00pm the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dansville.
