She was born in Endicott, NY on September 25, 1939, a daughter of the late John and Josephine (Makar) Layno. On October 15, 1960, she was married to Marvin Dixon, who survives. Mary Ann and her husband Marv were the proprietors of the Potpourri Card and Gift Shop in Dansville for many years retiring in 2001. She was a charter member of the Dansville Lioness Club, a former member of the Woman's Civic Club, the Noyes Hospital Auxiliary, and a member of the Silver Sneakers. She was a communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Mary Ann was active with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Program and served as committee member for Livingston County. She enjoyed her family especially at Thanksgiving when all the family would be together for a big meal she enjoyed preparing. In her free time she enjoyed reading, knitting, cross stitch, and playing scrabble on her Nintendo DS to keep her mind sharp. Surviving in addition to her husband of over fifty-years, Marv, are three daughters; Angela (Terry) Conway, Barbara (Rob) Stone, both of Dansville, and Christina (Mark) Reeves of Slingerlands, NY. A sister Josephine (Dean) Henty of Conesus Lake, seven grandsons, Matthew, Daniel, Andrew and Kevin Conway, Hunter and Brody Stone, Noah Reeves, a granddaughter, Sidney Stone, a niece and a nephew. The family will be available for visitation on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dansville.
