Dansville- Shirley Jean Snyder age 76, passed away early Friday morning August 5, 2011 at the Vincent House in Wayland after a long illness.
She was born in East St. Louis, IL on September 29, 1934, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Mildred (Whitaker) Outland. She was a graduate of the Geneseo State Teachers College and taught Elementary School in Wayland for many years. Later she worked at Dogwood Day Treatment Services as a Rehabilitation Specialist and other duties.
She is survived by two sons, Rick (Patricia Fox) Snyder of Sparta, Steve (Deb) Snyder of Orchard Park, NY; a sister, Darlene (James) Counts of Collinsville, IL; two grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Snyder and Sarah Snyder; a great-grandson, Easton Snyder, a niece and nephew Angie and Jimmy Counts.
Friends may call Tuesday from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., in Dansville. A graveside service will be held following calling hours in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
