Horseheads/Dansville- Mrs. Joseph Crupi age 78, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon June 18, 2001, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. She was born in Batavia, NY on March 8, 1933, a daughter of the late William and Kathryn (Lathrop) Welch. Patricia W. Crupi was married to Joseph C. Crupi for 56 years. He passed away in May of 2009. They lived in Horseheads, NY from 1952-1992, when they moved to Bradenton, Florida. Patricia taught elementary school in Horseheads for 25 years. Since 1980, she and her husband spent their summers at the Chautauqua Institution near Jamestown, NY. She has worked at Chautauqua in several different capacities. She passed away with a deep love for the Institution. Patricia was a strong supporter of the ideals espoused by the Chautauqua Institution. Pat was an active community member. She was recently re-elected to her second term on the board of the Wildwood Springs Condominium Association. She was a long time public servant assisting the Board of Elections of Manatee County as a Ballot Inspector. Pat was an avid traveler, having traveled extensively through Europe and across the continental United States. She made the most of her retirement, enjoying warm southern winters and lush northern summers. She loved to drive and would arrange her trips to visit family as she traversed back and forth between Florida and New York, visiting children, grandchildren and great grandchildren from Florida, to North Carolina, Ohio and New York. She is survived by her children, Mark (Deborah) Crupi of St. Augustine, FL, JoAnn "Jo Jo" (Elissa Gielen) Crupi of Dansville. Six grandchildren, Melani (Christopher) Muratore, Susanne (Kevin) McDaniel, Alex Crupi, Darcy (Pat) D'Enricco Mimi Weiss and Michaela Weiss, and ten great-grandchildren. Her dear cousins, Milton and Janice Ferry. A memorial service will be held Wednesday June 22 at 12:00 noon at the Scottsburg United Methodist Church, NYS Route 256 in Scottsburg, NY. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com. Memorial contributions may be made to the "Joseph C.
