Obituary of James Carl Fogle

Dansville- James C. Fogle age 77, passed away Saturday afternoon June 4, 2011, at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell following a lengthy illness. He was born in Canadice, NY on May 31, 1934, a son of the late Paul and Gladys (Gilbert) Fogle. He was also predeceased by a son James Paul Fogle, and siblings, Pauline Davidson, Carol Barrett, and Lucille Smith. On December 19, 1964, he was married to Darline (Feathers) Fogle, who survives. Jim was a US Air Force Korea veteran serving from 1951-1955. He was a former member of the Daniel Goho Post # 87 of The American Legion. Jim worked as a crane operator at the former Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. of Dansville. He also worked for RG&E, Retsof Salt Mine, Wayland Wood Croftry, and was a long time State Park Patrolman at Stony Brook State Park in Dansville. In his free time he enjoyed stock car auto racing, nature, observing animals and decorating his yard with sights and sounds of the seasons. Surviving in addition to his wife Darline, are a son, Dana (Leslie) Fogle of Olean; a brother, Bobbie (Peggy) Fogle of Arkport; two granddaughters, Olivia and Isabella Rose, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment with Full Military honors will take place in Bath National Cemetery. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
