Dansville- Grace M. Rauber age 91, passed away Thursday morning June 2, 2011, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, after a brief illness. She was born in Brookville, PA on March 27, 1920, a daughter of the late James and Myrtle (Luce) Keough. On October 30, 1940, she was married to Vincent E. Rauber, who predeceased her on June 29, 1997. She was also predeceased by a son, Ted Rauber, a grandson, Mark Rauber and siblings, Hazel May, Jeanne VanDoren, Pearl, Harlyn and James Keogh. Grace was a Communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Grace and Vince where very active members of the Bud's and Blossom's Square Dance Group. They camped in Penn Yan with the Promenades' camping club. She was a Life Member of the Dansville Area Historical Society. She had worked at the former FA Owen Publishing Company and the Craig Colony. She is survived by her children, Stephen (Diane) Rauber of Ossian, Margaret (Jim) Hartman of Ontario, Janice (Jim) Freeland of Hornell, Mary (Jim Dieter) Hadley of Ossian, Daniel (Cindy Kuhn) Rauber of Dansville, a daughter in-law Mary Rauber of Dansville, sister in-law, Viola Bricks, brother in-law, Don VanDoren, sixteen grandchildren, Theresa (Randy) Wolf, Stephen (Tammy) Rauber, Matthew (Megan) Rauber, Kristine (Lang) Hartman, Jennifer (Brian) Weller, Michael (Jodi) Hartman, Wendy (Russ) Freeland, Nathan (Amanda) Freeland, Tom (Ann) Freeland, Erin Rauber, Brian (Sandy) Rauber, Heather (Ray) Wagner, Ben (Amnesty) Hadley, Jill (Dave) Wentworth, Jacque (Chris) Davenport and Jessie (Dan) Rauber, twenty- six great-grandchildren three great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Dansville Area Historical Society or the Livingston County Hospice.
