Sparta- Rosalyn "Rosie" Carney age 71, passed away early Monday morning May 30, 2011, at the home of her daughter Tammy in Dansville after an extended illness. She was born in the Town of Conesus, on March 17, 1940, a daughter of the late Gordon and Neeta (Marble) Crane. She was also predeceased by a son Darwin Carney. On April 6, 1958, she was married to Roger Carney who survives. Rosie was a seamstress at Champion Products in Livonia for many years retiring in 1991. She attended the Scottsburg United Methodist Church. Rosie was a friend to many and loved her husband, children and grandchildren dearly. Surviving in addition to her husband Roger are her children; Tammy (Mike) Malone of Dansville, Darlene (Randy) Braun of Fowlerville, Gordon Carney of Sparta and Rodney "Deke" (Kendra) Carney of Ossian; a sister, Barbara (Roy) Baley of Scottsburg, a brother, Rodney (Carol) Crane of Conesus; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends may call Friday from 11:00 to 1:00pm at the Scottsburg United Methodist Church, where services will be held at the completion of calling hours with the Rev. David Hotchkiss officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Scottsburg. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Scottsburg United Methodist Church, NYS Route 256, Scottsburg, NY 14545, Noyes Center for Kidney Disease and Dialysis, 4616 Millennium Drive, Geneseo, NY 14454.
