Obituary of Edwin William Losey

Dansville- Edwin W. "Ed" Losey age 101, passed away late Saturday evening May 7, 2011, at the Vincent House in Wayland after a brief illness. He was born in the Town of North Dansville, on January 28, 1910, a son of the late Burney and Alta (Ziegenfus) Losey. On September 2, 1933, he was married to Helen I. Weber Losey who predeceased him on September 3, 1996, and a brother Kenneth Losey. Ed was a purchasing agent at the former Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. in Dansville for thirty nine years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of the original American Legion Drum & Bugle Corps. which is now the White Saber's Drum & Bugle Corps, playing the baritone bugle throughout New York to Cleveland Ohio. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Perkinsville for twenty five years and a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Dansville. Ed was a member of the Phoenix Lodge of the F&AM for over fifty years. He is survived by nieces and nephews, Michael and David Vanderslice, Boneta Weber-Didas and Clark Weber; his cousin and special friend, Richard Conrad, and dear friend Ann Koegel, many cousins friends and neighbors. Friends may call Wednesday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville, where services will be held at the completion of calling hours with the Rev. George Smith officiating. Interment will be in Rogersville Forest Lawn Cemetery in South Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
