One of my childhood memories is having Doc Beyer visit my father's farm (Joe Jones, Arkport, NY). There was only one vet as far as my father was concerned. Your husband/father was a true and valued public servant as evidenced by his community involvement. My sympathies are with all of his family.

Prayers and blessings for the Beyer family. Our thoughts are with you. This world is a better place for the many years that Dr. Beyer was with-
us, both for animals and people. We continue to miss him, his spunk, his caring, his gentleness, and his assertiveness for those who needed a mentor, advocate, or protector.God be with you.

My prayers and tears are with you all. I know what you're going through as I just lost my husband, Peter last month. Doc was such a wonderful, compassionate man who truly enjoyed his vocation. Our Great Dane, Shawna was one of his clients who had been hit by a truck and spent 3-4 weeks at the kennel. Doc conferred with Cornell Univ. trying different methods to keep the ball joint in the socket and ended up doing a muscle overlay which worked. During all this time Shawna became depressed, homesick and wouldn't eat. Your extra efforts in cooking chicken and hamburger to entice her to eat was above and beyond and we're grateful for all you did. It became obvious she was losing ground and through my tears I pleaded to Doc to let us bring her home. He was a bit reluctant due to chance of infection. He brought Shawna and myself out into the kennel and showed me what had to be done. I remember the color draining from my face as I watched. Doc turned to me and asked if I could do this and I replied Yes, I could (although I had reservations). He packed up a couple of bags with solutions, syringes etc. and sent us home. We had Shawna for a number of years and thank you all. Rest in Peace Doc and may all the animals you treated welcome you with kisses and tails wagging.

Dr. Beyer always welcomed all of his family, his family's pets, and the neighborhood kids into his home at Conesus Lake. He wanted everyone to have fun and enjoy the lake. I will always remember what a father figure role he played in so many people's lives. Everyone who knew Dr. Beyer loved him & looked up to him with the utmost respect. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Whole Beyer Family,
I have watched this website diligently to catch the time and place of services so that I could come pay well deserved respects to your father/husband and of course, I am out of town this weekend but please know that I have thought of you all, for so many years, each time I drive past Conesus lake or down Seneca street and that I have especially kept you all in my thoughts and prayers, the last month, each day. He was a wonderful human being.
Love, Kelly

Dear Beyer family,
I just happened to see this as I periodically check the Evening Tribune. Please accept my sympathies as you grieve for your dad. I am sure you are hearing about what a wonderful man he was and he certainly did much for many in his years in Hornell. For me, I remember his very kind, but big voice, great smile and a man who loved being at Conesus who made time to speak to whoever he saw. I know this is hard even though he has been sick for a while now. I went through the same with my dad. May he now rest in Peace eternally. With love, Martha

I'll never forget the first time I met Dr. T. J. Beyer. I was maybe ten years old, and "Doc" came to the farm after my mother called him to look at one of her beef cattle. By the time I was a teen, my mother worked for Doc as the office manager and I spent many days helping get his bag ready for farm calls, or helping kennel boys clean up the office. Later, after entering college, I helped at the front desk as a part-time worker, and got to know Doc and his family well. I credit my time working for him as one of the strengths of my foundation and work ethic. There are very few men or women today who could rise to the level of dedication that Dr. Beyer had, and I for one will sorely miss his booming voice, his love and respect for the animals he treated, and the lifetime of community work he performed. Rest in Peace, "Doc." Love, Lauren Anderson Gerber, Raleigh, NC

A "Mountain" has been removed from our horizon. "Doc," no veterinarian will ever fill your shoes, but all veterinarians should aspire to do so. Your kindness and care for "all creatures great and small," no matter the day, the hour, or the nature of the call for help, you were always there. You will be loved and missed by all.

Many good memories of Doc coming the my family farm, I know my grandfather, Herman Davis always enjoyed visiting with him. And my Father, Earl MacNaughton always called on Doc for the care of livestock after he took over grandpa's farm. The family pets were always seen by Doc at his office, and all us kids loved to go too. After his retirement my husband and I enjoyed Doc's company each year at Andy Spencer Farm's Christmas party. He will be greatly missed by many.
