Dansville- Burdette N. "Bud" Sauerbier age 90, passed away Tuesday morning February 22, 2011 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. He was born in Dansville on September 6, 1920, a son of the late Carl and Nellie (Greene) Sauerbier. He was also predeceased by brother's in-law Clyde and Gerald Thomas Boyd and a nephew Douglas Boyd. On April 26, 1948, he was married to Mary "Betty" Boyd, who survives. Bud was a US Army WWII veteran and member of the Daniel Goho Post # 87 of the American Legion. He was employed for over forty-three years at Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. in Dansville retiring as an Inventory Clerk. Bud was an accomplished skeet shooter and won awards in competition throughout the Rochester area. Bud and Betty spent the past thirty-two winters in Ft. Myers Florida where he enjoyed playing golf. He is survived by his dear wife Betty and her family, Dolly Boyd of Pittsford, Donald (Jane) Boyd of Dansville, William (Marilyn) Boyd of MI, Sarah Jean (John) McKay and Joyce Mothorpe both of NC. Many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville where services will be held Saturday at 11:00am. Interment with military honors will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Dansville Presbyterian Church, 3 School St., or the Dansville Ambulance Fund, PO Box 235, both of Dansville, NY 14437. LOGO
