Dansville- Edith L. Walker age 92, formerly of Dansville passed away early Monday morning November 29, 2010, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. She was born in Burr Oak Iowa, on August 28, 1918, a daughter of the late John and Myrtle Chapman Jacobs. On March 20, 1937, she was married to Stanley A. Walker, who predeceased her on March 5, 1999. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Ruth Privitera, Raymond, John, and Robert Jacobs. She was the valedictorian of her graduating class at Honeoye Falls High School. Edith was a medical secretary for Dr. Chapin in Perry, Dr. Murphy in Mt. Morris, Dr. Gungon, Dr. Agustin and Dr. Roque all of Dansville and retired in 1978. She was a former member of the United Methodist Church and the Women's Civic Club both of Dansville. In her free time she enjoyed crafting, macramé and ceramics. She is survived by her children, Ronald (Susan) Walker of Avon, Joanne (Charles) Thomson of Perry, Linda (Ronald) Gilbert of AZ, and Kirk (Cathy) Walker of Dansville; two brothers, Frank (Rosemary) Jacobs of CA, Donald (Angie) Jacobs of Leicester; three sisters, Myrtle Pendergast of Mt. Morris, Helen Scaccia, Mildred (Richard) Hamilton, both of Leicester, eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister's in-law Margaret, Yvonne and Erma Jacobs. Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., in Dansville, where services will be held at 11:00am Friday. Interment will be Oak Lawn Cemetery, West Sparta. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 3500 Winton Place Suite 4, Rochester, NY 14623.
