Obituary of Robert Frederick Shepard

He was born in Dansville, on January 28, 1934, a son of the late Charles and Flora (Smith) Shepard. On June 29, 1957, he was married to Rosalie Marie (Fox) Shepard, who predeceased him on September 24, 2006. Bob was a welding technician at the former Foster Wheeler Energy Corp., in Dansville for forty years retiring in 1998. Bob was a US Navy veteran serving on the USS Ticonderoga during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Daniel Goho Post # 87 of The American Legion of Dansville. He was a communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church, where he also helped lawn work. He was an honorary member of the Fearless Hook and Ladder Company of the Dansville Fire Department, a member of the Dansville Fish and Game Club, the IAM # 1665 and the Twenty Five year Club at Foster Wheeler. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, helping his neighbors, friends and his community with projects. He is survived by three sons, Rob (LaVaughn) Shepard of Dansville, Chris (Cyndi Wensel) Shepard of Livonia, and Tim (Kelly) Shepard of Farmington; a sister Linda Patterson and a brother Earl "Jim" (Ila) Shepard both of Florida; three sisters in-law Thelma Bauman, Donna Fox and Christine (Ken) Wright, seven grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Interment with full military honors will be next to Rosie in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Livingston County Hospice, 2 Murray Hill Drive, Mt. Morris, NY 14510.
